Data notice
Location powers gameplay. Safety still comes first.
Last updated: July 2026. This policy applies to the Oops, You're Dead! Android app, Windows Host, player portal, website, beta testing features, and related online services.
Important location notice
Oops, You're Dead! uses location during active games so nearby players, objectives, bases, flags, ghosts, zombies, extraction items, and play-zone boundaries can work. The app may be used in large real-world spaces, including city-block games, but players must obey local laws, cross only at designated/legal crossings, watch for traffic, bikes, pedestrians, and hazards, and stop somewhere safe before checking the phone.
Account data
We may collect your email address, Firebase user ID, login status, display name, avatar choice, language preference, account settings, tester access, redemption status, entitlements, and purchase or transaction history related to app access.
Gameplay data
We may collect game IDs, host/server information, join requests, teams, mode, scores, tags, objectives, beacons, flags, ghosts, zombies, extraction progress, match results, achievements, lifetime stats, and game history.
Location data
During active gameplay, the app may use precise or approximate device location to support live gameplay. Players in the same game may receive gameplay/radar information based on location and mode rules. We do not use location for advertising.
Host and play-zone data
Hosts may create play zones, lobby settings, game settings, join codes, QR codes, and game records. Public stats may use broad aggregate information, such as country-level game counts, without player names or exact private locations.
Bug reports
If you submit a bug report, we may collect your report text, screenshot attachment, compact debug log, build/version, mode, host type, device information, and other details needed to reproduce and fix the issue.
Crash and diagnostics data
We may use crash reporting and diagnostics tools, including Firebase/Google services, to collect crash logs, non-fatal error reports, device model, operating system version, app version, and troubleshooting information.
Website and player portal
The player portal uses Firebase Authentication and Firestore-backed account data so players can log in, view profile/access/history, redeem codes, and manage beta account information.
Website analytics
We may use privacy-friendly aggregate website analytics, such as GoatCounter, to understand page visits, referrers, device/browser basics, and site performance. This is for public website traffic, not live gameplay tracking, and we do not use it for advertising.
Beta access requests
If you use the request access form, we collect your name, email address, optional note, request date, and source page so we can review tester interest and contact you about beta access. The form may be processed by a third-party form submission provider so the request can reach us by email.
Community/Discord
Discord is a separate service. If you join the Discord, Discord's own terms and privacy policy apply. Do not post personal information, exact private locations, or photos/videos of people without permission.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, gameplay, entitlement, bug, crash, and diagnostic data for as long as needed to operate, secure, test, support, and improve the game. You can request account deletion from the signed-in Player Portal deletion form, which creates an admin-reviewed deletion request. If you cannot sign in, use the account deletion page for the manual email fallback.
Some limited records may be retained if needed for security, fraud prevention, abuse investigation, legal compliance, payment/refund records, backup recovery, or anonymized aggregate statistics.
Children and younger players
Oops, You're Dead! is not designed for children under 13. Younger testers should play only with appropriate permission and supervision. If you believe a child under 13 created an account, contact us so we can review and remove it.
